The Jacks give more than "Just a little bit" In Boston

A chilly Monday night in Boston, at an intimate wine bar, isn't normally where you would think to find a band like "The Jacks." With their indie-alternative vibes, you might have been surprised to find them relaxed and sipping their wine together before the show. However, you would be quick to note that these are guys that don't take themselves too seriously - and they definitely enjoy having a laugh together.

Right from the start of their acoustic set, The Jacks set the mood with their up-tempo, alternative originals.

In such an intimate venue, it is easier to gauge how the crowd is feeling - and this audience was definitely feeling The Jacks. Playing one of their first originals, "Just a Little Bit," certainly got more than one foot tapping in the laid-back atmosphere.

There is a playfulness that is hard to miss, among the bandmates. With their hair-shaking, wine-sipping, all rock and all roll attitude on stage - The Jacks create an ambience that mixes fun and flirty with edgy and soulful.

As their set progresses, I found The Jacks' sound to be more and more reminiscent of acclaimed bands like Cage the Elephant and The Strokes - with a style and flaire more like the Black Keys or the Arctic Monkeys.

Yet, it is almost not fair to compare them so heavily, because The Jacks certainly have their own distinct flavor (one that is easy on the taste buds).

All in all, I would definitely recommend making time to see these guys perform live. They are well worth it, otherwise, you will be kicking yourself later! (for not seeing them before they were a huge success, of course).
