Viper club: Quarantine kick back edition

Joining me on Zoom this past Thursday afternoon were Jack and Nate VanDerPol of the band Viper Club.

The Phoenix, Arizona based brothers had a lot to say about the direction of rock and roll, their philosophy regarding music, and what they hope to bring to the table.

The first thing to catch one's attention, when you see guys like Jack and Nate VanDerPol, is they look like rock stars. Between Nate's bleach blonde dye job and Jack's affinity for cheetah print, these rockers know how to look the part -- and I would soon find out that they have the rock and roll attitudes to match.

While Jack, as the front-man of the band, had more immediate thoughts to share concerning Viper Club's impact on the music world -- Nate seemed to be more introspective, ruminating on the particularly subtle facets of what makes Viper Club who they are (like their 80's reminiscent album art, for example).

Having just released a new single, "Rich Girl," the duo allowed us insight into their individual creative styles. Rich Girl carries tones from previous releases of the band, however, there is an unmistakably harder rock vibe that is maintained throughout the song. According to Jack, this song is the creative child of his brother. While Nate is inclined to the charms of hard rock, as seen in Rich Girl -- Jack takes more creative ownership of previous singles like "Beatrix," that pay more homage to alternative/surf rock vibes.

Check out the video below to get an inside look into the music philosophy and creative process of Viper Club. Be sure to stream/buy "Rich Girl" by Viper Club, and follow them on all their social medias -- @ViperClubBand
